The STAN® monitor – STAN being short for ST analysis – is the only monitor that gives an analysis of the ST wave form of the fetal ECG. The use of STAN significantly reduces the risk of fetal injury, especially by providing detailed information when the fetus is threatened by hypoxia during parturition. At the same time the number of unnecessary artificial deliveries decreases if compared to exclusive CTG monitoring. This makes STAN the optimal application for the detection of deviating CTG patterns that cannot be analysed using a classic CTG monitor. At this moment one out of four maternity wards in the Netherlands uses STAN. BMA is the offical STAN distributor in the Benelux.
