Spring 2009 saw professor dr. Simone Buitendijk, an employee of the Netherlands Organisation for Applied Scientific Research TNO, become extraordinary professor in Primary Obstetrics and Chain Care at the Faculty of Medicine of Amsterdam University. This first ever Chair in Primary Obstetrics in the Netherlands has been founded by the Royal Netherlands Organisation of Obstetricians (KNOV).
